So, I asked RosaJon about the leftover boob-magic in the dress and apparently I just have boobs now. Cool. Also, my shirt doesn't fit me anymore because of my new, ahem, chest size. Let's leave it at that.

Been feeling better since my last post. Also found a good way to get myself out of my ruts. I'll post what it is in a seperate comment, as it contains minor spoilers for Dragon Quest 11 (and the Definitive Edition, a tad). But, I just wanted to say thanks to you and chat for the kind words. I went to see the VOD on Twitch because I couldn't wait to see some of the funnies and got to see a few folks in chat who were extremely nice. I love this damn community so much.

Aight, that's all for now. Enjoy the stream, lads and lasses!

So, as I said, this comment will contain minor spoilers for Dragon Quest 11 and the Definitive Edition. As a result I HIGHLY recommend against reading this aloud on stream, as I know how people tend to get with spoilers, also it's gonna go past the limit to how long a comment should be to be read on stream. Still here? Cool.
Edit: Just finished writing. Don't read this on stream. Spoilers and length are specifically why.

So, in DQXI, there's a man named Jasper. He's Heliodor's second best knight, only behind Sir Hendrik himself. Well, throughout Act 2 of the game (and the end of Act 1), we see that Jasper was actually working with Mordegon (the main baddie) to eliminate the Luminary (Hero).
In Act 2, however, we see why Jasper turned on his fellow humans and joined with the monsters. It wasn't hypnosis, he wasn't bested and forced, no, he did so willingly. He joined Mordegon because he was tired of always beeing second best. He was tired of watching Hendrik shine ever more brightly while he was left to drown in the shadows.
Over his time with Hendrik, Jasper had watched Hendrik be praised for things that he couldn't have done without Jasper. One of the final straws was when Hendrik was knighted by King Carnelian. As Hendrik walked towards the King, Jasper extended a hand in congratulations. Hendrik ignored this.

Now, why does this matter? Because I understand Jasper's pain. I understand what it's like to always be second best. I see his point of view, with my own twists added in. Jasper rarely got praised by anyone but the lowly townsfolk. I, personally, am either not congratulated on my major accomplishments, or am congratulated very minimally. It's rare that I get to feel good about myself. It's a terrible feeling, being left out and watching people live your dreams. But, knowing that some guy in an office came up with someone with the same problems as me makes me feel better.
Jasper isn't a real person, but the fact that I have someone I can relate to in my favorite game of all time, it makes me feel better. Jasper is my favorite character in the game, and that's because I can see his struggles. I can see why he chose to go with Mordegon. Jasper is so much like me, that it comforts me, in a way. I see this successful knight of the biggest kingdom in the land, and he shares my problems.

In short, Jasper and I share the problem of low self-worth due to being outdone and ignored, and it makes me feel better seeing someone else with that same problem, even if he isn't real.

(Also, as a side note, the reason Jasper starts to be cocky and arrogent in the game is because he has the power he always desired. Mordegon gave him the power he wanted, so his self-image was boosted. It's not stated directly, but it's assumed to be true. By me, at least.)
