When danger threatens the land of the Runaway Guys, and Tim's nowhere to be found, Fatman's more than happy to work for a good cause! Jon and Chuggaa have their equipment ready to defend the Beefuru from the forces of evil, like Outback Stabhouse!
So after watching the stuff in the Nintendo Direct tonight, I wanted to throw together some sprites for the occasion!
Chuggaa's Monado has kicked into a mode called "CODE:ALREST", signified by the new Aegis-style accouterments integrated into the sword. With such raw damage output, the Monado's attack strength is boosted considerably, and now has the power of furious flames! The squid hat? I think he picked it up in the final Splatoon 2 Splatfest. Pearl was giving them out...
Jon, meanwhile, has gone Ninja Wolf--what's that? Ninja Dog? Don't be absurd! Jon's too good to be a Ninja Dog! Just look at his badass ninja cape with the Wesker Egg wearing its... scarf! Yeah! Only the greatest Ninja Wolves of the EGG Clan wear that badge! It's a badge of honor! (And hopefully will stop bullets.)
Fatman is decked out with his signature weapons from his "Arsenal of Freedom", the Power Glove (It's So Bad™) and the Variant Zapper, a retrofitted pair of equipment inherited from the greatest Nintendo hero, Captain N himself! And, like any delinquent from River City, Fatman has his own chains... the Photon Shackle, chains of light that he "borrowed" from a certain Subspace Emissary.
Accompanying him is the Erasure Option, an AI partner similar to Luminous Avenger Copen's AI drone Lola. The Erasure Option is a reference to the game Zeroranger, an excellent shoot-em-up by FRAXY boss fight creator Eboshidori, available on Steam now. She provides firing support for Fatman and converts chained attacks into additional boosts to the party's damage output.
