hhhhggggghhhh

I'll post the text for the Twitter thread in a seperate comment, because it's long and I'm sure it'd be too much for stream, but I do want it here for context's sake.

Anyway, the tldr is:

What if I took NiGHTS, Persona, Mario Galaxy, and Star Fox, put 'em in a blender, made it go *brrrrrrr* and then slapped "Aero the Acro-Bat" on it?

The idea of the reboot is that Aero is not really a circus performer, persay. I was inspired by NiGHTS and Persona and decided that Aero would get his form from a dreamworld. As such, Aero himself would have a normal form. He would be able to henshin for a bit in the regular world, but majority of the time, his transformation would be sustained in this "dream world."

This part would be inspired by Mario Galaxy and you'd see more of the NiGHTs influence. While Aero can run and Jump in the real world, this world (which would have a variety of aesthetics, but sort of revolve around amusement parks) would be a lot of floating platforms and gravitational fun. And, of course, the goal would be to make them a little maze-like. He would unlock levels in the hub world (real world).

Ektor's role as the antagonist has changed a bit. He now acts more as an atypical vampire, trying to be a bit of a puppet master so that he can manipulate his way into the real world.

Aeriel would be indicative the hub world aspects that make the "game" Persona-like. While not nearly as in depth, Aero can interact with and talk to characters, and what the reveal will help open up levels. Also, yeah, I changed her from a bat to a kestral. I wanted her to contrast with Aero more. Like, a lot more. Like, "more than just a slightly edited sprite of Aero"-more.

As Aero travels around the dream world, he'll enter areas that expose him to arcane energy. This will help him transform into the Arcane-Bat. In this form, Aero's abilities are amped way up. He can fly all the time, his drill-jump is devastating, and he's even learned the primal art of a Sonic Screech.

Of course, at least early game, this can only be done for a limited time. It could be because he just can't channel arcane energy well and would eventually fall out of it. I think, tho, it's more likely he'd fully succumb to his primal nature and remain a beast of the arcane aether.

Maybe. Again, feature of a game that doesn't exist.

Eventually, I think Aero would be able to control his mind in this form and not have to worry too much. Stages with this form might also play a bit like Star Fox or another flight sim, but with some flexibility for when to transform?

Anyway, I appreciate ya'll reading through this! Put a lot of thought into this concept. I'd kinda even like to spend a bit more time with it, but I guess time will tell.

Hope you enjoyed!

ADDITION: It could also be that Aero is actually performing. The Persona inspiration does also go beyond just entering another world. It might be that people watch Aero on TV or their devices. On a sort of "Midnight Channel," if you will.
