Now that you mentioned it, while I know that some of you Rayman fans already know this, Rayman had limbs at one point in an early sketch during the development of the very first Rayman game, but they were soon removed so that game developer Michel Ancel could animate him easier for the game. There's also another picture on the Rayman Facebook page of Rayman in his modern appearance with limbs, but was intended as an April Fools joke.
