Jon, you dug up a core memory the moment NFL 98 won the Cookie. Turns out, underneath a pile of Sega Genesis cartridges was the final Genesis game I recall owning as a kid. Believe it or not... I got this game around Christmas time in '97 if memory serves.
Also, shoutout to the Hyperkin MegaRetron HD I got a few years ago for Christmas from some friends, it's come in handy for playing my collection on a TV with HDMI.
720p resolution, but still as crusty and crunchy sounds as I remember...
