Hey Jon! I couldn't be on during the Final Fantasy XIV stream, but I just watched the vod and wanted to include my own character. I've been playing for about seven years, so she has quite the saga to her. Each picture is a part of her saga that I just photoshopped together to show how she evolved over time.
Alkaid Stormsorder began as a Roegadyn Gladiator and Paladin (Picture 1 is how she appeared at level 50). She would remain as such until about level 52, until I changed her to a Miqo'te, still a Paladin. The second picture is how she would appear throughout Heavensward and Stormblood, as she remained a stalwart Paladin all the way to level 70. However, I had to take a long break from the game before Shadowbringers and, as a result, one of my friends wound up taking up my previous tanking role within my group. So, Alkaid, seeing no point in having two defenders in the same party, switched to a Dancer, one of the only DPS classes I've really enjoyed, which she stayed until level 80. The third picture is how she appears as a Dancer. Since I had finished the main story, I thought about leveling Paladin to 80 as well, but I opted to branch out into the Dark Knight class, which is how Alkaid has remained to date. Final picture is her coming face-to-face with the darkness in her heart.
In effect, I feel her class evolution shows that being lead astray can cause even the most stalwart of warriors off the path. She goes from a woman who knew what she wanted, who seemed to know her path, but being replaced within her own circle of friends lead her to try to adapt and now she's having to accept there was some element of darkness within her, something that resented those around her that wanted or needed her help.
While I would love to jump on to say hello, sadly, I am on a different data center. I'm on Crystal on the illustrious Balmung server. A server where there is no getting in at this point. If I transferred away, I wouldn't be getting back. I did briefly play with MegaGWolf and the GPack for a time, as an Au Ran Dragoon (Not pictured, don't have any screenshots of her), which was fun, but this is the character I spent much of my time building up. Sorry to be so rambly in this, but when you've been playing for seven years on the same character, you get pretty invested in their personal story and every moment can be a major change.
Perhaps some day, if cross-data center play becomes a thing, I hope I can pop onto Cactuar and say hello to you and Lucah both. Welcome to Eorzea!

Oh, and I forgot to say picture 2 is my favorite glamour for tanking classes, so once I get Alkaid's Dark Knight level high enough, she will look like that again. Just with silver hair instead of blond.
